How will the new Alien movie connect to the Alien TV series?

AdminEngineerMar-05-2022 12:54 PMAfter a few years with no news on Alien's future, now we have an abundance of Alien material to discuss and get hyped for. The new Alien film in development by Fede Alvarez and the new Alien TV series by Noah Hawley.
Ridley Scott is a producer on both projects. We know the new film will be a standalone entry, reportedly ignoring all Alien films except for the original. We also know the Alien TV series will be a prequel of sorts and will be the first instance of Xenomorphs on Earth. We also know the show will not be connected to Ripley or anyone from the Alien movies. We also know both of these projects will be released on the streaming platform Hulu.
This sounds like all of the established Alien canon and characters are being pushed to the side to make room for a completely new narrative.
Since Scott is involved with production, we can hope he will ensure some aspects of his prequel films (Prometheus and Alien: Covenant) will make their way into these new projects but we have yet to receive any word on if that's a possibility.
We do also know the TV series will further explore the relationship between Androids and Human beings. Very much in the vein of Scott's other creative project, Raised by Wolves (which is a great show btw).
BUT HOW WILL THESE TWO STORIES BLEND TOGETHER?
I assume the series will set the stage for whatever is to come in the new film, given that filming on the TV series doesn't start until next year and the script for the new film is currently being written. But to what degree should we expect the stories will blend? The mention of this new film being a standalone entry makes me wonder if Disney is just flying off the rails with their newly acquired properties and just putting feelers out to see which avenue gains the most interest. That will prove to be a nightmare for us dedicated fans to take this stuff way too seriously... But at the same time knowing Scott is involved makes me think he might be the glue that keeps all of these projects connected to some extent.

MemberDeaconMar-07-2022 9:57 AMWell we KNOW NOTHING of the Movie YET.... we do KNOW of the TV Series being SET on Earth and Prior to Alien Covenant and so that could be a Conflict with the Franchise as a WHOLE!
Unless as i have said before that the TV Series is a Alternative Universe... like say the 90's Batman vs the Dark Knight Series... and Various Incarnations of Spiderman etc... Then that would NOT go and Conflict the Franchise too much.
Now would this MOVIE also be another Alternative? Is this what we are NOW going to see (Alternative Takes) or is the MOVIE going to be Canon/Connected to the TV Show? Is the MOVIE going to be Canon/Connected to the ALIEN Franchise and/or Prequels? Or are they ALL going to be Canon?
Only TIME will TELL i suppose.

As long as he isn't allowed to affect the story it'll be fine.

Thanks for that, try new characters and characters that don't remind us that much about those that came before (Daniels as a version of Ripley for example).

Oh F, I hope that it'll be limited, not interested in another Covenant.
RBW? No thanks, I'm not interested in a story about androids. I would say keep this as an alternate thing, kind of like the AVP’s. Good to see that things are moving in the alien-universe

Unfortunately the new Alien TV series is going to be very android/metahuman/cyborg orientated. Probably because the show runner is not confident in the creature itself
