Hello there. I've recently been having a closer look at the theropod known as Carnotaurus and have discovered that there's quite a bit of conflicting information concerning its size! As a whole, I've decided to reach out to you fine gentlemen and ladies in an effort to learn just how big Carnotaurus really was. I've come to trust that the vast majority of you know what you're talking about when it comes to dinosaurs, thus I know you won't let me down. How much did this animal weigh? how long was it from snout to tail? How tall was it at the top of its head? As always, your thoughts and conjecture concerning this topic are most appreciated, even if you choose to keep them to yourself. :)

As a dinosaur enthusiast myself I've never really focused on this animal, despite the fact that it is a very interesting species indeed!

Carnotaurus was a fairly large animal, I'm guessing 2 tons in weight but it could of perhaps reached anywhere up to 3 and a half.

I am not too sure on her height but I do know that carnotaurus had very long and slender legs for its body size so was in no means a short animal!

There have many varied estimates regarding length but I'm going to guess 8 to 9.5 metres.

I hope this has helped SOMETHING REAL!

How far can we push nature before it pushes back?

Carnotaurus was a big, but lightly built predator. We only have one(relatively) complete specimen, so it's hard to really get an estimate on how big these guys really got.

The only known individual was about 8 to 9 metres (26 to 30 ft) in length,Its mass is estimated to have been 1,350 kg (1.33 tons) 1,500 kg (1.5 long tons and 2,102 kg (2.069 long tons). Now for the height...at the hip it was probably roughly 1.2 meters, and at the top of the head maybe 2 meters tall.

The skull was was proportionally shorter and deeper than in any other large carnivorous dinosaurs. This is characteristic of other abelisaurs, but What sets this one apart is the teeth are  really small proportionally wise. It had an elongated, stiffly built tail and really long and gracile legs, which most paleontologists think pointed towards it being a capable runner, able to hit 40mph.

Hope this helped!

Nature doesn't deceive us; it is we who deceive ourselves.

I myself have never really foucused on albersaurids myself but after some reserch heres what I've found.

Carnotaurus size comparison

Carntaurus

After looking at those 2 images we have a general length of 8 metres which is about 26.5 feet, and for weight we only have one source, it says 2100kg about 2.1 tons, that's about the average I myself would say for carntaurus a max weight could up to 3 tons but, that might be bit to heavy, I'd say the most likly weight would be 2.5 tons.

Carnotaurs were fairly small carnivores compated to the giants they lived with, like Giganotosaurus. The average size might have been around 2 tons, and 25 feet in length. Some inaccurate depictions portrayed the Carno as being overly large, *cough*Disney*cough*, being larger than a Spinosaurus in one film. The fossils paleontologists have discovered showed that the individual was fully grown, although some of the species could have grown to a larger size. Hope this helped.

Be yourself, for everyone else is taken.

Thank you all so very much! This information definately works to help establish a better understanding of Carnotaurus for me. You guys are the best! :)

EVAN123 -Yes. The information you provided is most compelling! The weight estimates you've presented are very interesting! :)

CARNOSAUR - That is very fascinating information concerning the animal! I didn't know that Carnotaurus' skeleton was partially incomplete. Thank you for sharing this! :)

HIPHOPANANOMUS - Thank you very much for taking the time to search about for information regarding this topic. I very much appreciate what you found and presented! :)

DERPY BATTRA - Hahaha! Yes, I know exactly what you mean. Disney's Dinosaur certainly made the Carnotaurus much more robust than it likely was! :)

I believe Carno would turn out  at 2.5-3 tons, 28-30 ft long, and 14-15 ft tall.

Youre fat, and I'm not sugarcoating it cause you'd probably eat that too.
