In my eyes, you were the clear winner, from the moment your entry was posted. Yes, the scores for every entry were very close, but that speaks to the margin of victory. Your writing has that something extra that makes your topics the cream of the crop, and leaves the other stories at a simply elite level.
However, I do take issue with how the final scores were calculated, @The Vengeful Spooder Rex, because I don't know how you did it. Shouldn't the scores have been added up, then averaged? That would be how I'd do it. When using that method, Something Real and myself would be tied at 9.8/10 and we'd be declared co-winners or we'd need a tie-breaker. I don't know what method you used, could you please clarify your scoring system?

I'm an algebra/physics/biomechanics guy; that's why math is that important to me. Not necessarily calculus...I don't want to go back that...
